KIDS N CATS is an electronic pop band from Vienna, Austria. They are loud, wild, excessive and colorful, driven by an insatiable curiosity towards life, music and the world itself. Their universe is weird, disruptive and full of passionate emotions. So is their new brutally honest song „Tokyo“, inspired by the feeling of despair and anger.
As a woman, expressing anger against society, structural inequalities, patriarchy, against others and against herself, anger becomes a political act. Together with the Japanese female punk band TsuShiMaMiRe, KIDS N CATS sing and shout in English and Japanese for this extraordinary collaboration.
KIDS N CATS and TsuShiMaMiRe are going to tour Japan together for the second time, along with bands from Korea and the USA. The tour called “GAITARE MAMIRE TOUR 2018” will take them to Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo and Sendai.
I just want to destroy
Let objects overcome gravity
Throw things all over me
Scream my ego out, scream my ego out.
It’s my anger, it is strong
It’s a part of me
A protection I so love
It’s the heat, it’s the heat, it’s the heat
And the feeling of control that delights me
(refrain) Can’t you fucking see me?
I’m craving for attention
I’m screaming, jumping: look at me!
My narcissistic self needs some attention
I need some conflict, I need it now.
My mimics, my gestures, the dress I wear
My voice, my actions, my laughs, my tears
Scream at you, I need you
To legitimize my existence, my emotions
I need you
loud, excessive and colorful: welcome to the wonderful universe of KIDS N CATS!
